Description

The Knightsbridge GDM05TOGSB is a 20AX intermediate grid toggle switch module in a smoked bronze finish, designed to clip into Knightsbridge grid mounting frames from the front. The intermediate switching configuration allows the module to be wired into multi-way lighting circuits, enabling control of a single light or group of lights from three or more switch locations.

Grid modules are used in residential and commercial installations where multiple switching functions need to be grouped in a single faceplate. This module occupies a single grid aperture (one module wide) and can be combined with other Knightsbridge grid modules such as 1-gang, 2-gang, dimmer or socket modules in 2-gang, 3-gang or 4-gang grid frames. The intermediate function is wired between two 2-way switches to create a 3-way or 4-way switching arrangement, common in hallways, staircases and large rooms with multiple entry points.

The module housing is constructed from steel and ABS, with a smoked bronze finish on the toggle dolly. The finish provides a mid-tone metallic appearance darker than polished or brushed brass, pairing with warm contemporary and industrial interiors. The module requires a minimum 35mm back box depth and is rated IP20 for indoor dry-location use. The 20AX rating handles lighting loads up to 4,600W on 230V circuits.

Does this module work on its own or does it need a grid frame?

This is a grid module only. It requires a separate Knightsbridge grid mounting frame (sold separately) which fixes to the back box. The module then clips into the frame from the front. Grid frames are available in 2-gang, 3-gang and 4-gang configurations.
