Description

The Knightsbridge 20AX DP grid module is a single-width switch insert with an integrated LED indicator, finished in antique brass. The module clips into Knightsbridge grid mounting frames (sold separately) from the front, allowing it to be combined with other grid modules to build custom switch and socket configurations in a single faceplate.

Designed for residential and commercial modular wiring systems, the double pole switching isolates both live and neutral connections when the module is switched off, providing safer isolation than single-pole switching for high-draw circuits up to 4,600W on 230V mains. The LED indicator illuminates when the circuit is live, giving clear visual confirmation of status without needing to operate the load.

The module measures 24.8mm wide (single grid width), 56.3mm tall, and requires a minimum 35mm mounting box depth. The antique brass finish sits behind a white plastic grid frame and shows a warm, aged brass tone with darker patina detail. The ABS body and steel contacts are rated IP20 for dry indoor use and carry a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked

What is a grid module and how is it installed?

Grid modules are individual switch or socket inserts that clip into a separate mounting frame, allowing you to build custom multi-function faceplates. This module clips into Knightsbridge grid frames from the front without needing to disassemble the frame. Frames are sold separately in 1-6 module widths.

What does the LED indicator show?

The LED illuminates when the circuit is live, providing visual confirmation of status. This is particularly useful for circuits controlling equipment in another room or outdoors where you cannot see whether the load is active.

What does double pole switching mean?

Double pole (DP) switching breaks both the live and neutral connections when the module is switched off, isolating the circuit more completely than single-pole switching. This is safer for high-draw appliances and is required by wiring regulations for certain installations.

What other finishes are available in this range?

Knightsbridge produces grid modules in multiple finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, matt black and white. Use the site search or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
