Description

This puts two services behind a single flat plate: a telephone connection beside an RJ45 aperture that takes Cat 5 and Cat 6 data cable. The screwless front leaves no fixing heads on show, so the face stays a clean square, and the matt black surface holds its colour without bouncing light back at you the way a gloss plate does. At 88mm square it reads on the wall as a small dark tile rather than a piece of kit.

We reach for it where a landline and a wired network connection arrive in the same corner: a desk in a home office or study, or the wall behind a television where a set top box or router does better on cable than on wi fi. It suits anyone wiring a house properly for data, and anyone tired of streaming stalling at the far end of the hall. Everything here runs on low voltage data circuits, so it works alongside your power points rather than taking the place of one. Indoor rooms only.

The plate is moulded ABS, finished matt black across the face, with both apertures on the one front. Keep it clean with a dry cloth and nothing more; sprays and kitchen cleaners can leave a matt finish blotchy, and damp has no business near data terminals. It carries a ten year warranty. Matt black is the finish we choose when the rest of the wall hardware has already gone dark, and it holds its own against deep paint, brick and timber where a white plate would jump out of the wall. It is a small piece of hardware doing an unglamorous job, and doing it without drawing the eye is rather the point.
