Description

The SHADE-U H-W is a 1 metre U-shaped profile channel in a white plastic finish, decoded from the article code as the U H White 1M variant. It is a surface-mounting channel that holds an LED strip neatly inside, behind a diffuser, so the strip is tidied into a clean continuous line. The profile itself is passive housing and carries no light of its own; the LED strip fitted within it provides the illumination.

The U-shape suits surface runs along shelving, under cabinets, coving and joinery, keeping the strip protected and the wiring concealed. At 1 metre it can be used as a single length or butted into a longer run, with the diffuser softening the look of the strip behind it. We also stock matching diffusers, end caps and the LED strip that fits inside this channel.

What width of LED strip fits inside this profile?

The U-shape channel takes most standard flexible LED strips up to its internal width. Check your strip width against the channel opening before fitting, and trim the strip only at its marked cut points.

Is this profile for surface or recessed mounting?

This is a surface-mounting U-shape channel, fixed onto a flat surface such as shelving, joinery or under a cabinet. It is not designed to be recessed into the surface.

Can the 1m profile be cut to length?

Yes, the aluminium-style channel can be cut down with a fine-tooth saw to suit your run. Cut squarely and de-burr the ends, then fit an end cap for a clean finish.

Does the profile include a diffuser?

The profile is supplied as the channel itself. Matching diffusers and end caps are available separately so you can complete the run to suit your installation.
