Description

This is a Type K aluminium channel for housing LED strip, supplied in a pack of 10 lengths of 1m each. Made from anodised aluminium alloy, each profile measures 1000 mm long by 21.3 mm wide and 6.6 mm deep, giving a low, slim run suitable for surface mounting along shelving, under cabinets, joinery and skirting. A strip of LED tape sits inside the channel and a diffuser clips over the top to soften the line of light; the profile itself does not light up, it carries and protects the strip and helps spread heat away from it.

The narrow 6.6 mm depth keeps the channel discreet where a shallow profile is wanted, and the anodised finish resists marking in everyday use. The 10-pack format suits longer continuous runs or several short sections in one project, and the aluminium can be cut to length with a fine-tooth saw. What width of LED strip fits inside this profile?

The Type K channel has an internal width to suit standard flexible LED strip up to roughly 10 mm wide. Check your strip width against the 21.3 mm external profile before ordering, as wider tape will not seat correctly.

Is this a surface or recessed channel?

Type K is a surface-mounted profile. It fixes directly onto a flat surface such as a shelf, cabinet underside or wall, with the strip and diffuser sitting just above the mounting face. It is not designed to be recessed into a groove.

Can the profile be cut to length?

Yes. The aluminium can be cut down with a fine-tooth saw or mitre saw to suit your run, then finished with an end cap. Each length in the pack is supplied at 1m.

Is a diffuser included?

This listing is for the aluminium channel only. A diffuser cover and end caps are needed to complete the fitting and are available separately; we stock the matching parts for this profile.
