Description
Tape light with the diodes packed tight: 240 LEDs a metre, close enough that the run reads as one line of light rather than a row of dots. The tone is a cool white at 4000K, crisp without going blue, and it holds steady along the whole 5m reel. It works on low voltage, so a driver is needed to feed it, and it switches simply on and off with no dimming.
We reach for this density where the strip, or its reflection, sits in plain view: under wall units onto a worktop, along the underside of open shelving, inside a wardrobe, or washing the back of an alcove. The cooler light suits kitchens, utility rooms, workshops and home offices, anywhere you want a work surface read clearly rather than softly. It is happiest in dry interiors, so keep it well away from showers, splash zones and anything that sees weather. Because the output sits on the brighter side, it also copes with being tucked behind a deep shadow gap, where a sparser tape can look thin.
The tape is white, so it stays quiet against pale ceilings, plaster and painted joinery when it is switched off. Cleaning is a matter of dust: a soft dry brush run along the length every few months, with the power off at the driver first, stops the light going flat. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same tape in warmer whites and in more widely spaced LEDs where less output is wanted, and there are weather-resistant versions in the range for damper spots, so one tone can be carried through a whole room even when conditions change from one run to the next.

Frequently Asked
Does it come with a driver?
No, the driver is separate. The tape runs at 24V, so you will need a constant voltage 24V driver sized to the length you are running, allowing for the 19.2W drawn by each metre.
How bright is it?
It is rated at 1700 lumens, spread through a wide 120 degree beam, which is why it works well as a broad wash across a worktop or shelf rather than as a narrow line of light.
Can it be dimmed?
No. This one is non-dimmable and is meant to be switched on and off. If you want a level control, look at a dimmable tape and driver combination instead.
Is 4000K too cool for a kitchen?
It is a clean working white, good over food preparation and in utility spaces. If you want something warmer for a living room or bedroom, the same tape is made in 3000K and 2700K.
Is it suitable for a bathroom or outdoors?
No. This version is for dry indoor use only. For a bathroom, a covered outdoor soffit or a similar damp position, choose one of the IP65 versions in the range.
How long should it last?
The LEDs are rated at 30,000 hours average life, with a colour rendering index above 80 for accurate colour on surfaces and materials.
