What is a fused spur unit used for?

A fused spur unit provides a hard-wired connection for fixed appliances such as boilers, extractor fans, electric towel rails and under-cabinet kitchen equipment. The fuse protects the appliance circuit, and the switch allows local isolation without needing to turn off a circuit breaker at the consumer unit.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The faceplate adds 7mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What does the anti-microbial property do?

The white thermoset resin incorporates anti-microbial additives tested to ISO 22196:2011, which reduce bacterial surface growth between cleaning cycles. This does not eliminate the need for regular cleaning, but it slows bacterial colonisation on the faceplate surface in kitchens, bathrooms and clinical environments.

Can the fuse be replaced?

Yes. The unit accepts a standard 13A BS 1362 fuse cartridge. To replace the fuse, isolate the circuit at the consumer unit, remove the faceplate, and swap the cartridge in the fuse carrier behind the switched module.
