13A Fused Spur Unit with 3A Fuse Fitted - White Rounded Edge

The Knightsbridge 13A fused spur unit is fitted with a 3A fuse for low-current fixed appliances such as extractor fans, intruder alarms, bathroom shaver sockets and under-cabinet lighting. The white thermoset resin plate features a gently contoured 7mm-thick profile with rounded edges, providing a softer finish than traditional flat plates while maintaining the durability needed for commercial and residential installation.

Designed for fixed appliances that draw less than 3A, the unit isolates the appliance circuit from the ring main and provides overcurrent protection at the point of connection. This configuration is commonly required by Part P Building Regulations for bathroom installations and other zones where additional isolation is mandatory. The fused spur fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and includes screw cap covers to conceal fixings once installed, giving a cleaner wall finish than exposed screw heads.

The plate carries anti-microbial treatment tested to ISO 22196:2011, reducing bacterial growth on high-contact surfaces in kitchens, bathrooms, healthcare environments and other areas where hygiene is a concern. The thermoset resin construction resists impact, heat and UV degradation better than polycarbonate alternatives, and the unit is certified to BS 1363-2 for UK mains safety. What appliances does a 3A fused spur suit?

The 3A fuse rating suits low-current fixed appliances such as extractor fans, bathroom shaver sockets, under-cabinet LED lighting, intruder alarm panels, and doorbell transformers. It provides overcurrent protection and isolation at the appliance connection point.

Can the fuse rating be changed?

The unit ships with a 3A fuse fitted. The fuse can be replaced with a different rating (typically 5A, 10A or 13A) if the appliance requires it, but the fuse must not exceed the cable rating or the appliance load rating, whichever is lower.

Is this suitable for bathrooms?

Yes. The IP20 rating and anti-microbial treatment make the unit suitable for installation outside bathroom zones (typically zone 3 or outside zones entirely).
