Description
The Knightsbridge CU9R is a 13A 2-gang single-pole switched socket with built-in RF remote control functionality, allowing each socket to be switched on or off manually via the rocker switches or remotely using the included key fob remote. The remote operates on a 433MHz RF signal with a range of up to 30 metres through walls, making it suitable for controlling lamps, fans, or seasonal decorations without needing to reach the wall socket.
Designed for residential living rooms, bedrooms, home offices and care environments where remote power switching adds convenience or accessibility, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses single-pole switching (live line only). Each socket is rated to 13A, supporting appliances up to 2990W combined load. The white curved-edge faceplate is moulded from thermoset resin with inherent anti-microbial properties, and the neon indicator confirms when power is flowing to the outlets.
The key fob remote requires two CR2016 lithium batteries (included) and can control both sockets independently — pressing button A switches socket A, button B switches socket B. The remote can be paired with multiple CU9R sockets in different rooms, or one socket can respond to multiple remotes, giving flexibility in multi-room or shared-access setups. The curved-edge plate projects 7mm from the wall once fitted, giving a softer profile than traditional square-edge faceplates.

Frequently Asked
What is the range of the remote control?
The RF remote operates on 433MHz with a range of up to 30 metres through typical interior walls. Actual range depends on wall construction — metal studs or thick masonry may reduce the effective distance.
Can one remote control multiple sockets?
Yes. The remote can be paired with multiple CU9R sockets in different rooms, allowing one key fob to control several sockets. Each socket can also respond to multiple remotes if needed.
What batteries does the remote use?
The key fob remote requires two CR2016 3V lithium coin batteries, which are included. Replace them when the remote becomes unresponsive or the range shortens noticeably.
Is this suitable for outdoor use?
No. The socket carries an IP20 rating, meaning it is designed for dry indoor locations only. For outdoor or bathroom installations, an IP-rated socket is required.
