The Knightsbridge CL9940BCW is a 13A 2-gang SP switched socket with one USB-A and one USB-C charging port built into a brushed chrome faceplate with white insert and rounded edges. The dual USB ports share a 5V DC 4.0A output, allowing two devices to charge simultaneously without needing a separate plug-in adapter.

Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the socket fits standard 25-35mm back boxes depending on cable entry configuration. The single-pole switching isolates the live line when switched off, suitable for standard appliance loads up to 13A per outlet. The rounded edge plate sits flush to the wall with a subtle 7.5mm projection, while the brushed chrome finish provides directional grain that softens reflections and fingerprints compared to polished chrome.

A 25-35mm back box depth is needed, with the exact requirement depending on cable entry configuration. Tighter cable bends or rear entry may require the deeper 35mm box, while side entry and neater wiring can work with 25mm.

What's the difference between SP and DP switching?

Is the rounded edge plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The faceplate is fixed with screws visible from the front (this is not a screwless design). It can be removed for painting around the socket and refitted without re-wiring, though the visible screw heads will remain part of the design.
