Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang DP switched socket pairs a matt black rounded-edge metal faceplate with a black insert and matching rocker switches. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole designs for high-draw appliances.

Designed for residential, hospitality and commercial installation, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses screw terminals for live, neutral and earth connections. The twin earth terminals offer flexibility for earthing continuity in multi-gang installations or daisy-chain wiring. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet.

The rounded-edge profile softens the visual weight of the plate compared to sharp-edged designs, while the matt black finish on premium-grade steel provides a low-reflection surface that pairs well with contemporary, industrial and minimal interiors. The black insert behind the faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and gives a defined edge to each outlet aperture, maintaining a monochromatic finish when the socket is in use. The integrated gasket between the plate and the wall creates a clean edge seal.

Frequently Asked

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The faceplate adds 7.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What does double-pole switching mean?

Double-pole switches isolate both the live and neutral lines when switched off, providing additional safety compared to single-pole switches that only break the live connection. This is useful for appliances that remain plugged in when not in use.

What are twin earth terminals used for?

Twin earth terminals allow two earth wires to be connected independently, which is useful for maintaining earthing continuity in multi-gang installations or when daisy-chaining sockets in a circuit.

What other finishes are available in this range?

Knightsbridge produces this rounded-edge design in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
