Description
The Knightsbridge CL9919MBB is a 13A 1-gang single-pole switched socket with integrated USB-A and USB-C fast charge ports, housed in a matt black rounded edge faceplate with a black insert. The socket delivers up to 18W per USB port individually or a shared 20W total output at 5V DC, 4.0A when both ports are in use simultaneously. Fast charge protocols (PD and QC) enable compatible devices to reach 0-50% battery in approximately 30 minutes.
Designed for residential, hospitality and light commercial installation, the socket fits a 35mm minimum back box depth and includes a 10mm spacer to accommodate shallower mounting depths where standard boxes cannot be retrofitted. The single-pole switching isolates the live line when the socket is switched off, providing standard safety for everyday appliance use up to the 13A rating (3,120W maximum load). The rounded edge design softens the profile against walls and reduces sharp corners in high-traffic areas.
The matt black finish provides a low-sheen surface that resists fingerprints and blends with industrial, contemporary and monochrome interiors. The black insert behind the faceplate conceals the back of the cover plate and gives a defined edge to each outlet and USB aperture. Built-in protection against overload, overheat and over-current events safeguards connected devices, and the socket automatically moderates charging rate once device batteries exceed 70% to preserve long-term battery health. Stand-by consumption sits at 0.1W, meeting ErP energy efficiency guidelines.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A 35mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. A 10mm spacer is included with the socket to accommodate shallower mounting depths where standard boxes cannot be retrofitted.
What's the USB charging output?
The socket provides up to 18W per USB port individually, or a shared 20W total output at 5V DC, 4.0A when both USB-A and USB-C ports are in use simultaneously. Fast charge protocols (PD and QC) are supported for compatible devices.
What's the difference between single-pole and double-pole switching?
Single-pole (SP) switching isolates the live line only when the socket is switched off, while double-pole (DP) isolates both live and neutral. SP switching is standard for most residential and light commercial use; DP provides additional safety for high-draw appliances or environments requiring stricter isolation.
What other finishes are available in the rounded edge range?
Knightsbridge produces the rounded edge socket range in multiple finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
