Description

The Knightsbridge LFX512DL is a 5-metre 12V LED strip light emitting 6000K daylight white light at 4.8W per metre. The strip carries 60 2835 SMD LEDs per metre along an 8mm-wide flexible tape with a self-adhesive backing, designed for under-cabinet lighting, alcove illumination, display cases and task lighting in kitchens and workshops.

The strip runs on 12V DC and requires a constant-voltage LED driver (sold separately). It can be cut at marked intervals every 50mm to fit exact lengths, and dimming is possible when paired with a compatible dimming driver. The 6000K colour temperature produces a cool, bright white light that matches natural daylight, making it suitable for spaces requiring clear visibility and colour accuracy — prep areas, workbenches, retail displays and home offices.

Each metre outputs 520 lumens at 113.9 lm/W efficacy with a CRI over 80, providing consistent light across the full 5m run. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations — bathrooms, outdoor areas and moisture-prone spaces require a higher-rated alternative. The 3M self-adhesive backing bonds to clean, smooth surfaces including painted wood, metal, glass and rigid plastics, and the 1.2mm thickness allows the strip to fit into shallow recesses and channels.

The strip includes a 300mm lead cable for connection to the driver. Knightsbridge produces matching connectors, corner joints and aluminium profiles for installations requiring more complex routing or surface mounting with diffused covers.

What driver is needed?

A 12V constant-voltage LED driver is required. For the full 5m length at 4.8W per metre, a driver rated at 25W or above is needed (24W minimum load plus headroom). Dimming capability depends on choosing a driver with dimming support.

Can the strip be cut to length?

Yes. The strip has marked cut-points every 50mm (3 LEDs per segment). Cut only at these marked intervals using sharp scissors or a blade, then use appropriate connectors to rejoin sections or connect to power.

Is this suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the strip is not protected against moisture and is suitable only for dry indoor locations. Bathrooms require IP65 or IP67-rated LED strip.

What colour is 6000K?

6000K is a cool daylight white with a slight blue tone, matching midday natural light. It provides high contrast and clarity for task lighting but can feel clinical in living spaces — kitchens, workshops and offices suit this colour temperature better than bedrooms or lounges.
