Description

The Knightsbridge LFX512CW is a 5-metre roll of 12V LED strip light delivering 535 lumens per metre at 4000K cool white. Each metre carries 60 x 2835 SMD LEDs spaced along an 8mm-wide flexible circuit board, consuming 4.8W per metre with a combined output of 115.1 lumens per watt. The strip runs on 12V DC constant voltage and arrives with 3M self-adhesive backing already applied to the rear of the PCB.

Designed for under-cabinet lighting, shelving accent, cove lighting and signage, the strip can be cut at marked intervals to fit specific installation lengths. The 4000K colour temperature sits between warm white and daylight, providing neutral illumination suited to kitchens, offices, retail displays and workshops where colour rendering matters but warmth is not a priority. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations away from moisture and dust ingress.

The strip requires a separate 12V constant voltage LED driver sized to the total wattage of the installation — a full 5m roll draws 24W, so a driver rated 30W or higher is recommended to allow headroom. Dimming capability depends on the driver model selected; pairing with a dimmable driver and compatible wall control enables full 0-100% dimming. The 120-degree beam angle from the SMD LEDs provides even spread along the length of the strip without visible hot-spotting when mounted inside aluminium channels or behind diffusers.

Can the strip be cut to a specific length?

Yes. The strip has marked cutting points at regular intervals along its length. Cutting outside these marked points will damage the circuit and void sections of the strip. Cut sections can be rejoined using solderless connectors or low-temperature soldering.

What driver is needed?

A 12V DC constant voltage LED driver is required. For the full 5m roll drawing 24W, use a driver rated 30W or higher to allow headroom. If dimming is required, select a dimmable 12V driver and pair it with a compatible dimming control.

Is it suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations away from moisture. For bathrooms or outdoor installations, use an IP65 or IP67 rated strip designed for wet environments.

How is the strip mounted?

The rear of the strip has 3M self-adhesive backing. Peel off the protective liner and press the strip onto a clean, dry, degreased surface. For long-term installations or surfaces where adhesive may fail, mount the strip inside an aluminium LED channel with mechanical fixing clips.
