Description
The Knightsbridge LFX512WW is a 5m reel of 12V LED strip light outputting 510 lumens per metre at 3000K warm white. The strip uses 60 x 2835 SMD LEDs per metre mounted on an 8mm-wide flexible PCB that draws 4.8W per metre from a 12V DC constant voltage driver (sold separately). The rear of the strip carries 3M self-adhesive tape for direct mounting to clean, dry surfaces.
Designed for under-cabinet lighting, shelving accent, cove lighting and retail displays, the strip can be cut to length at marked intervals every few centimeters, allowing precise fitting to alcoves, cabinet runs and architectural recesses. The 120-degree beam angle provides broad illumination without hotspots when mounted behind a diffuser or baffle. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations — not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or outdoor installations.
The 3000K colour temperature gives a warm white output comparable to traditional halogen under-cabinet lighting, making it a direct LED replacement for older 12V halogen strip systems. The strip is dimmable when paired with a compatible 12V dimming driver or PWM controller. The Class III rating means the strip operates entirely on extra-low voltage (12V DC) with no mains voltage present at the strip itself, simplifying DIY installation when paired with a plug-in 12V power supply.
The 5m reel length is a standard modular size that can be extended using Knightsbridge connector accessories or shortened by cutting at the marked intervals. CRI >80 provides reasonable colour rendering for residential and light commercial applications where colour-critical tasks are not required. The L70B50 rating of 54,000 hours indicates the point at which 50% of LEDs will have degraded to 70% of initial output, translating to approximately 20 years at 7 hours per day.

Product Specification Sheet
Frequently Asked
What power supply does this strip need?
The strip requires a 12V DC constant voltage power supply or driver. At 4.8W per metre, a 5m reel draws 24W total, so a 30W or higher 12V driver is recommended to allow headroom. Knightsbridge and other manufacturers offer compatible 12V LED drivers — contact us if you need a recommendation for your installation.
Can the strip be cut to a shorter length?
Yes. The strip can be cut at marked intervals approximately every 50mm along the reel. Cut only at the marked copper pads to preserve circuit continuity. Once cut, unused sections cannot be re-joined without soldering or using connector accessories.
Is this suitable for bathroom or kitchen use?
The IP20 rating means the strip is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be installed in dry indoor locations. It is not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any area where water contact is possible. For wet or damp locations, consider Knightsbridge's IP65-rated LED strip variants.
How is dimming achieved?
Dimming requires a compatible 12V dimming driver or PWM controller placed between the mains power supply and the LED strip. The strip itself does not contain dimming circuitry. Knightsbridge offers compatible dimmers — check the Specification Sheet in the Downloads tab or contact us for compatibility guidance.
