Can this be installed in a bathroom?

Yes, but the IP20 rating means it must be installed outside Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas as defined by BS 7671 bathroom electrical regulations. Typically this means it should be at least 600mm from the edge of a bath or shower tray.

Does the voltage switch automatically?

Yes. The socket detects the plug type inserted and switches to the correct voltage output (115V or 230V) automatically. There is no manual voltage selector switch.

What does the neon indicator show?

The red neon indicator lights when the socket is powered, confirming that mains voltage is present at the transformer. It provides a visual check before plugging in a device.

What back box depth is required?

A 47mm minimum back box depth is needed to accommodate the internal transformer and wiring. The plate adds 10mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
