Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 4-gang 2-way switch fits four independent lighting circuits onto a single 86mm x 86mm white plate with gently curved edges. Each of the four rockers controls a separate 2-way circuit, allowing multi-point control of four different lighting zones from one wall position. The 10AX rating handles inductive loads up to 10 amps, suitable for fluorescent fittings and LED drivers as well as standard incandescent and LED lamps.
Designed for residential and commercial installations where multiple lighting circuits converge at a single switch location, the single-plate design reduces the number of wall apertures needed compared to installing four separate 1-gang switches. The 2-way configuration supports switching from two locations per circuit, so each gang can be paired with a corresponding 2-way switch elsewhere in the room. The 7mm projection keeps the plate close to the wall, and screw cap covers hide the fixing screws once installed.
The white thermoset resin plate carries an anti-microbial coating tested to ISO 22196:2011, making it appropriate for clinical, hospitality and care settings where surface hygiene matters. The rounded edges and shallow curve soften the visual impact compared to sharp-edged flat plates, and the IP20 rating confirms protection against solid objects over 12mm but no water ingress protection, so the switch is suitable for dry indoor locations only.

Frequently Asked
What does 4-gang 2-way mean?
The switch has four separate rockers (4-gang), each controlling one lighting circuit. Each rocker is wired for 2-way operation, meaning it can be paired with another 2-way switch elsewhere in the room to control the same light from two locations.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The 7mm plate projection means the switch sits approximately 32mm proud of the wall surface once installed.
What is the 10AX rating suitable for?
10AX handles inductive loads up to 10 amps at 230V, making it appropriate for fluorescent fittings, LED drivers, transformers and high-wattage incandescent circuits. Standard LED bulbs draw far less current and work without issue.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
The IP20 rating provides no water ingress protection, so the switch is suitable only for dry indoor locations outside bathroom zones where water contact is possible.
