Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 3-gang 2-way switch provides independent control of three separate lighting circuits, with each circuit switchable from two different locations in the room. The switch sits behind a matt black rounded-edge steel plate measuring 87.75mm square with a 7.5mm projection from the wall once fitted to a standard 16mm minimum back box.
Designed for living rooms, hallways, kitchens and office spaces where multiple lighting zones need coordinated control, the 2-way switching allows a ceiling light, wall lights and downlights to be switched both at the door and from a second position across the room. The 10AX rating handles lighting loads up to 2,300W per gang, comfortably covering typical LED, halogen and incandescent circuits. Each rocker operates independently, so one circuit can be on while the others are off.
The premium-grade steel plate is finished in a low-sheen matt black that pairs with industrial, contemporary and minimalist interiors without the reflections of polished finishes. The rounded edge softens the profile against the wall compared to square-edge plates, and a built-in gasket behind the plate protects the terminals from dust ingress. The switch is certified to EN 60669-1 and carries a 25-year warranty, indicating Knightsbridge's confidence in the mechanical longevity of the rocker mechanism and terminal connections.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows each of the three lighting circuits to be controlled from two different switch positions in the room. For example, you can turn a ceiling light on at the door and off from a switch at the other end of the hallway. This requires a matching 2-way switch at the second location and appropriate wiring between the two switches.
What back box depth is required?
A 16mm minimum back box depth is needed. The plate adds 7.5mm of projection from the wall surface once installed, giving a total depth of approximately 23.5mm from the back of the box to the front of the switch rockers.
What load can each gang handle?
Each gang is rated at 10AX, which handles lighting loads up to 2,300W at 230V. This comfortably covers typical LED downlight circuits, halogen spotlights and filament bulb circuits without risk of overloading the switch mechanism.
Can the matt black finish be paired with other Knightsbridge ranges?
Yes. Knightsbridge produces sockets, dimmers, toggles and data plates in matching matt black rounded-edge steel, allowing a consistent finish across all electrical accessories in a room. Use the search function or filters to find matching products in stock at Niori.
