Description

The Knightsbridge 10AX 2-way pull cord switch is a ceiling-mounted lighting control in anthracite thermoset resin with a 1.5m black braided cord and matching anthracite cone pull. The 10AX rating handles lighting loads up to 2,300W on 230V mains, covering typical bathroom, utility room and bedroom ceiling light circuits.

Designed for situations where a wall switch is impractical or not permitted, the pull cord offers tactile control without needing to touch electrical fittings with wet hands. The 2-way switching capability allows the same light to be controlled from this pull cord and a separate wall switch elsewhere in the room, useful in bathrooms where you might want control from both inside the shower zone and at the door. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor areas and Zone 3 in bathrooms (outside shower enclosures and bath zones).

The 74mm diameter anthracite base mounts flush to the ceiling via a standard back box and conceals the wiring terminals behind the thermoset resin cover. The resin construction resists impact and thermal stress better than basic plastic housings, maintaining its matt anthracite finish under repeated pull cycles. The 36mm projection from the ceiling keeps the profile low while allowing clearance for the internal mechanism. The matching anthracite pull tip on the 1.5m cord sits at a reachable height in rooms with 2.4m ceilings.

Yes, with the IP20 rating it suits bathroom Zone 3 (outside the shower enclosure and bath zones). It cannot be installed directly above a bath or inside a shower cubicle where IP44 or higher is required.
