Description
The Knightsbridge SF12TOGAB is a 10AX intermediate toggle switch with an antique brass screwless faceplate and an ultra-flat profile. Intermediate switches are wired into lighting circuits where control from three or more locations is needed, such as top-of-stairs, mid-landing and bottom-of-stairs switching for a single light, or multi-point control along long corridors.
The switch fits residential and commercial applications where three-way lighting circuits are required. The 87.5mm x 87.5mm screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, leaving no visible screws or fixings once installed. The ultra-flat 4.3mm plate depth and 22.7mm total projection from the wall keep the fitting low-profile in hallways and landing walls where protruding switches can be knocked or caught.
The antique brass finish provides a warm, aged metallic tone with subtle darkening around the edges, pairing well with traditional, period and heritage interiors. The 201 stainless steel construction beneath the brass finish gives corrosion resistance and structural rigidity, while the moisture-sealed gasket between the cover plate and sub-frame keeps dust and damp out of the terminal chamber. The 10AX rating handles lighting loads up to 2,300W on 230V circuits.

Frequently Asked
What is an intermediate switch and when is it needed?
An intermediate switch is wired into circuits where a single light or set of lights needs to be controlled from three or more locations. It sits between two two-way switches in the circuit. Common applications include stairwell lighting (top, mid-landing, bottom switching) and long corridors with multiple entry points.
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 16mm mounting box depth is needed. The ultra-flat design allows installation in shallow wall cavities where standard switches would not fit. The screwless cover plate adds 22.7mm of projection from the wall surface once installed.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The antique brass cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or wallpapering around the switch and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces the SF series screwless ultra-flat intermediate toggle switch in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
