Description

The Knightsbridge CL2PC is a 10AX 1-gang 2-way light switch with a polished chrome rounded edge faceplate and a matching polished chrome rocker. The 10AX rating handles up to 2,300W on 230V mains, making it suitable for controlling standard domestic lighting circuits including those with multiple bulbs or higher-wattage fittings.

Designed for two-way control, the switch allows a single light or group of lights to be controlled from two separate wall positions — typically at either end of a hallway, staircase or large room. The rounded edge faceplate projects 7.5mm from the wall once fitted to a standard 16mm minimum depth back box, giving a subtle stepped profile rather than a flat screwless plate. The polished chrome finish provides a reflective metallic surface that pairs well with contemporary interiors, chrome door furniture and modern bathroom fixtures.

The faceplate is constructed from premium-grade steel with a built-in gasket behind the rocker aperture to create a tight seal against the mounting box, reducing light leakage and improving the finished appearance. Screw terminals inside the switch accept 1.0-2.5mm² cable, and an earth terminal is provided for Class I earthed installations. The switch carries IP20 rating for dry internal use and meets EN 60669-1 standards, with a 25-year warranty from Knightsbridge.

What does 2-way switching mean?

Two-way switching allows a single light or group of lights to be controlled from two separate wall switch positions. This requires a second 2-way switch wired in parallel, typically installed at the opposite end of a hallway, staircase or room. The circuit uses three-core-and-earth cable between the two switch positions.

What back box depth is required?

A 16mm minimum mounting box depth is needed for safe installation. The rounded edge faceplate adds 7.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted, giving a total of approximately 23.5mm from the wall surface to the front of the rocker.

Is this switch suitable for dimming?

No. This is a standard 2-way rocker switch rated at 10AX for resistive loads. For dimming control, a dedicated dimmer switch is required — Knightsbridge produces compatible dimmer modules in the same polished chrome rounded edge finish.
