Description
The Knightsbridge 10A fan isolator module provides triple-pole switching for extractor fans, bathroom fans and ventilation systems behind an antique brass rocker plate. The module clips into Knightsbridge grid mounting frames from the front without requiring access to the back box, allowing the faceplate to be changed or replaced without rewiring.
Designed for grid wiring systems where multiple switches, sockets or dimmers share a single faceplate, the module occupies one single-width grid position (25mm width) and combines with other Knightsbridge grid modules to build custom control layouts. The triple-pole isolation disconnects live, neutral and earth when switched off, providing safer isolation than single-pole switching for mechanical equipment drawing continuous loads. The 10A rating handles standard residential and commercial extractor fans up to 2,300W.
The antique brass finish on the rocker provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with traditional, period and heritage-style interiors. The rocker is marked 'OFF O' at the top and 'FAN isolator ON I' at the base, with the engraving cut through the finish to remain visible under varied lighting. The ABS body and steel contact mechanism give the module an IP20 rating for indoor dry locations, with a 25mm minimum back box depth required for installation.

Frequently Asked
What is triple-pole isolation and why does it matter for fans?
Triple-pole switching disconnects live, neutral and earth when turned off, compared to single-pole switching which disconnects live only. For mechanical equipment like extractor fans that draw continuous loads, triple-pole isolation provides safer maintenance access and reduces residual current risks.
What mounting frame is required?
This module requires a Knightsbridge grid mounting frame sold separately. Grid frames are available in single-gang, double-gang and triple-gang sizes to accommodate one or more grid modules behind a shared faceplate. The module clips into the frame from the front without back box access.
Can this be used in bathrooms?
The IP20 rating limits the module to Zone 3 in bathrooms (600mm or more from the bath or shower enclosure). For Zones 1 or 2, a higher-rated IP44 or IP65 fan isolator is required.
What other finishes are available in the grid range?
Knightsbridge produces this fan isolator module in polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other finishes in stock at Niori.
