The Knightsbridge 1-gang dimmer plate provides an unpopulated faceplate with a matching dimmer cap in an antique brass screwless finish. The plate accepts either centre-mounted or offset dimmer modules (sold separately), allowing the installer to configure the dimming control to suit the specific circuit and load being controlled.

Designed for residential and hospitality installations where dimming control is needed for incandescent, halogen or dimmable LED circuits, the plate suits traditional, classical and warm-toned interiors where antique brass complements existing metalwork or period-style fixtures. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, hiding all fixing screws once installed and giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates.

The faceplate measures 87.5mm square with a 28.6mm total depth including the sub-frame, fitting a standard 25mm minimum back box depth. The 201 stainless steel construction with antique brass finish provides corrosion resistance and a durable surface that develops a patina over time. The built-in gasket between the cover plate and sub-frame minimises dust ingress around the dimmer cap aperture.

What dimmer module does this plate need?

The plate is sold without a dimmer module fitted. You need to purchase a compatible Knightsbridge dimmer module separately, choosing either a centre-mounted or offset-mounted module depending on the circuit layout and load type. The dimmer cap supplied with the plate fits both module positions.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The total depth of the installed plate including the sub-frame is 28.6mm, so the cover plate will project approximately 3.6mm from the wall once fitted.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the switch and re-clipped without re-wiring or disturbing the dimmer module inside.

What loads can be dimmed with this plate?

Load compatibility depends entirely on the dimmer module you install behind the plate. Knightsbridge offers modules for incandescent, halogen, trailing-edge LED and leading-edge LED loads. Check the dimmer module specification to confirm it matches your circuit load before installation.
