Description

Our Zeline bowl is made entirely of mahogany. It is 15cm across and 7.5cm tall, with rounded sides that rise from a short, narrow foot to a wide open rim. It holds 600ml, which makes it a generous bowl for one rather than a sharing dish: room for a side salad, a portion of fruit or a good helping of nuts and crisps. Mahogany is a hardwood, and because no two trees grow alike, the grain on your bowl will follow its own pattern of lines and swirls across a brown surface.

It is as much at home on the table as on a shelf. Fill it with olives and nibbles when friends come round, put out berries at breakfast or serve a side of salad at supper; it suits the kitchen and the dining room equally. Away from mealtimes it is just as handy by the front door for keys, on a dressing table for jewellery and hair ties, or on a desk for clips and odds and ends. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a new home, or for anyone who likes natural wood on the table.

It cannot go in the dishwasher, the microwave or the oven, so wash it by hand and dry it with a cloth soon after; wood does not like to stand in water.
