Description

Our Yule lazy Susan is a round stoneware turntable for the Christmas table. It is 35cm across and 4cm tall, and the top sits on a low base so it can be turned to bring the food round to each guest. The white glazed surface has a fine line around the rim and a garland of fir branches looping between little hearts in a star shape. Small Christmas motifs hang along the garland: a pig tied with a bow, a candy cane, a horn, a drum and a checked woven heart. It weighs 2.11KG, which is worth knowing if you plan to carry it loaded from the kitchen.

It is approved for food, so it can take centre stage on the table through December. Use it for a Christmas cake or stollen, a spread of biscuits with afternoon coffee, mince pies, or cheeses after dinner. At 35cm across there is room for a large cake with space around it, and a turn of the top saves everyone reaching across. It suits a family Christmas lunch, a dining table laid for friends or a kitchen island where people help themselves through the day. Between meals it can stand on a sideboard as a seasonal centrepiece with pine cones, baubles or a candle arrangement.
