Description

This is a dinner plate made for Christmas, in cream stoneware with a red rim. Swags of fir garland run around the plate and meet in little hearts. From them hang ornaments drawn in a light, storybook way: a pig tied with a bow, a horn, a candy cane, a drum and a checked heart. At 25.5cm across it is a full dinner plate size, with room for turkey, roast potatoes and all the trimmings, and at 3cm high it is a shallow plate with a gently raised edge. It is 100% stoneware and weighs 0.772KG.

Set it out for Christmas dinner, for Christmas Eve suppers and for the long, slow lunches of Boxing Day. Or bring it out through December for mince pies, cake and biscuits. It suits the host who likes the table to feel like Christmas before anything is served: the motifs do the decorating, so a dining room or kitchen table needs little else to look festive.
