Vrea is a round side table in a waisted double form: two rounded halves meet at a narrow middle, like an hourglass, and multicoloured stripes run from top to floor. On the round top the stripes radiate from the centre, so the pattern carries on when you look down at it as much as when you see it from across the room. It is made of iron and MDF, stands 46cm tall and measures 31cm across, which makes it a compact low table for the space beside a seat rather than a large surface for spreading things out.

We would put it next to a sofa or an armchair, where a low surface within easy reach is what you want, or in the gap beside a bookcase or a cabinet, where a wider table would crowd the room. A book you are halfway through, a small plant pot or a small table lamp will sit happily on a top 31cm across. It also earns its place on its own as a bold accent in a living room that needs a little colour and pattern, and at 3.5KG it is light enough to lift and move to another spot whenever you rearrange the furniture.
