Description

This stoneware ornament is a head cut as a flat, upright profile, standing on a low oval foot. The body is beige, and each side carries its own face, drawn with details in contrasting colours. One side has a bob of hair falling to the jaw, two heavy-lidded eyes and full lips; the other has a sweep of hair across the brow, a single eye, a spiral for an ear and a pair of lips. It is 25cm tall, 19cm long and 8.5cm wide and weighs 0.9KG, so it is a tabletop sculpture with real presence rather than a small trinket.

Having two faces means you choose the mood: turn it one way for the calmer face with two eyes and the other for the bolder, more abstract one, then swap them as often as you like.
