Description

A round garden dining table, 100cm across and 79cm high, with an acacia top on an iron frame. The top is built from narrow boards laid side by side and cut to the circle, so the joints run straight across it as parallel lines. The frame is two hooped legs joined by a straight stretcher, with a pair of arched braces below it and small flattened discs for feet, all in a bronze-brown finish.

It stands 79cm to the top, and the round top has no corners, so chairs go anywhere round it rather than into fixed places. At 25kg it is light enough for one person to move across a terrace and to put away out of season. The Vivika range holds a matching outdoor dining chair.

The top is acacia and the frame is iron. Acacia is a hardwood with a high oil content, and the tone in it runs from light amber to a dark mahogany across a single top, deepening with age. Knots are part of it. Left outside it develops cracks along the grain and weathers towards grey, and both are what the wood does rather than faults in it. The iron frame carries a bronze finish.
