Description

A throw 200cm long and 130cm wide, woven from a fine merino wool blend in a natural cream. A long twisted fringe runs along both short ends, each strand twisted from the yarn of the weave itself rather than sewn on afterwards. The weave is plain and lofty rather than dense, which is where the warmth comes from: the whole throw weighs 0.945kg.

At 200 by 130cm it covers a two seat sofa or lies across the foot of a double bed, and folded once over the arm of an armchair it still reaches the seat. Merino is soft enough to go over knees as well as over furniture. Thrown over the arm of a sofa, the fringe hangs clear of the floor.

The yarn is a fine merino wool blend with nylon in it, spun before it is woven, and the merino is RWS certified. Merino is what gives the throw its loft and its warmth against the weight it carries. The same throw is also made in ochre.
