Description

This is a low, armless garden chair made for lounging rather than sitting up at a table. Its seat and back are woven from beige polyrattan, a synthetic fibre made to look like natural rattan, over an iron frame. The back is an open lattice that lets light and air through, while the seat has a closer weave for a smooth surface to sit on. It is 68cm long, 71cm wide and 79cm tall, with the seat 40cm off the ground and 53cm deep, so you sit low and can lean back properly.

We see it on a patio, a terrace or a quiet patch of lawn, anywhere you want to settle with a book or sit and talk as the evening draws in. The deep seat leaves room to tuck your feet up or sit cross-legged, and the gently reclined back does the rest. It is rated for a maximum load of 150KG. At 8KG it is light enough for one person to lift and carry across the garden, following the sun in the morning and the shade by the afternoon. Set a pair side by side with a small table between them for a place to sit together outdoors.

The frame is iron, shaped into a sled base: each side is one continuous loop forming the front leg, back leg and runner, and a crossbar ties the two sides together.
