Description

A wall mirror 62cm tall and 40cm wide in a broad cast aluminium frame. The corners are drawn into a deep curve, so the outline softens at each end instead of meeting in a square angle. The frame face is flat and wide, and sand casting leaves it faintly uneven across the surface rather than machine smooth. The frame stands proud of the glass all the way round.

It hangs portrait, and at 62 by 40cm it suits the wall above a chest of drawers, a basin or a narrow console rather than a broad expanse. Above a sideboard it hangs high enough that the bottom of the frame clears everything standing on the surface below. The bedroom and the bathroom are the two rooms it is made for.

The frame is cast aluminium and the glass is mirrored. The metal is shaped and moulded in sand, a process in which nearly every material used can be recovered and recycled, and it is that method which leaves the surface uneven. The Ungura is made in two sizes.

Frequently Asked

Which way up does it hang?

Portrait. It is 62cm tall and 40cm wide and is made for portrait hanging.

Can it hang in a bathroom?

Yes. The bedroom and the bathroom are the two rooms it is made for.

What is the frame made from?

Cast aluminium, shaped in sand rather than machined, which is why the surface is not perfectly even.

How heavy is it?

4.08kg, which is the weight the wall fixing has to carry.

How do I look after it?

Wipe the glass regularly with a microfibre cloth, working in a circular motion. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners away from the frame.
