Description
The Ukari is a counter stool with an iron frame and a padded seat and back rest covered in buffalo leather, stitched into three panels. The back rest is a single pad carried on two uprights that run up from the back legs. Four legs splay outwards and are tied together by a footrest that runs right round near the floor. The leather is a chocolate brown and the frame a dark rust brown, left matt rather than polished.
The seat stands at 70cm, which is counter height rather than bar height, so it suits a kitchen island or a breakfast bar rather than a tall bar. The seat measures 40cm square and the stool is 44cm wide overall, so a row of them sits close along an island without the back rests touching. The footrest runs all the way round, which means the stool can be sat at from any side.
The leather is buffalo hide, a by-product, dyed with vegetable extract and tree bark, which is why the colour deepens with use rather than staying as it arrives. The frame is iron. The Ukari range runs to dining chairs and counter stools in aged tan, rich green, aged black and this chocolate brown. The stool weighs 8kg.

Frequently Asked
How high is the seat?
70cm. The stool stands 101cm overall to the top of the back rest.
Is it counter height or bar height?
Counter height. At a 70cm seat it suits a kitchen island or a breakfast bar rather than a tall bar.
What leather is it?
Buffalo hide, a by-product, dyed with vegetable extract and tree bark.
Will the colour change?
Yes. The vegetable dye means the colour deepens with use rather than staying as it arrives.
What other colours are made?
Aged tan, rich green and aged black, across dining chairs and counter stools.
How should I look after it?
Wipe the leather with a soft, dry cloth and keep chemicals and household cleaners off it. To stop the leather drying out and cracking, feed it with a specialist leather product, petroleum jelly or flax oil.
