Description

The Knightsbridge NCLB24 is a twin 4ft (1263mm) T8 LED-ready batten fitting in impact-resistant grey polycarbonate, rated IP65 for dust-tight and water-resistant operation. The fitting is pre-wired for direct connection to dedicated T8 LED tubes without requiring a separate ballast or driver, simplifying installation and reducing points of failure in industrial and commercial environments.

Designed for warehouses, workshops, food preparation areas, car parks, storage rooms and outdoor covered zones, the IP65 rating protects the internal wiring and connections from ingress of dust and water jets from any direction. The twin-tube configuration delivers higher light output than single-tube battens, making the NCLB24 suitable for larger spaces needing functional task lighting. The fitting surface-mounts to walls and ceilings using standard fixing points spaced along the 1263mm body.

The polycarbonate body and prismatic diffuser resist impact better than acrylic or glass equivalents, making the fitting suitable for environments where accidental knocks from ladders, trolleys or equipment are likely. The prismatic diffuser spreads light evenly along the length of the batten, reducing sharp shadows and glare spots. Class I earthed construction provides safety grounding for metal surfaces in contact with the fitting during installation.

T8 LED tubes are sold separately. The fitting accepts any standard 4ft (1200mm nominal, 1213mm actual) single-ended or double-ended T8 LED tube rated for direct 230V mains connection. Most installations pair this with two cool white 4000K or neutral white 5000K tubes in the 18-22W range, giving combined output equivalent to traditional twin 58W fluorescent setups at a fraction of the running cost.

What T8 LED tubes does this fitting take?

The fitting takes any standard 4ft (1200mm nominal, 1213mm actual pin-to-pin) T8 LED tube designed for direct mains connection. Look for tubes marked as ballast-bypass, direct-wire or mains-voltage T8 LEDs. Tubes are sold separately. Most users install two tubes in the 18-22W range at 4000K or 5000K colour temperature.

What does IP65 mean in practical terms?

IP65 means the fitting is fully dust-tight (the '6') and can withstand water jets from any direction (the '5'). This makes it suitable for dusty workshops, outdoor covered areas, car washes, food prep zones and other environments where moisture or particulate ingress would damage non-rated fittings.

Can this be dimmed?

Dimming capability depends entirely on the T8 LED tubes you install. The fitting itself is a passive housing with no driver or control electronics. If you install dimmable T8 LED tubes and pair them with a compatible mains dimmer, the installation can be dimmed. Non-dimmable tubes will not respond to dimmer switches.

How is the diffuser removed for tube replacement?

The prismatic polycarbonate diffuser clips onto the grey body using spring clips along the length of the batten. To remove, press the clips inward and lift the diffuser away from the body, exposing the tube holders for tube replacement or cleaning.
