Description

The Twig Small Oval Bowl is a 50cm-wide sculptural bowl formed from individual metal branches that are hammered, bent and twisted into a naturalistic twig structure, then welded together to create an open lattice oval. The metal is finished in matt black, giving the appearance of charred wood or cast iron branches while keeping the piece lightweight at 650g.

Designed as a decorative centrepiece rather than a functional vessel, the bowl suits console tables, sideboards and dining tables where it can be displayed empty or filled with dried botanicals, decorative spheres or seasonal foliage. The 14cm height and open lattice structure mean it reads as a three-dimensional object rather than a flat dish, creating visual interest from multiple angles.

Each bowl is handcrafted by artisans who shape the individual metal twigs before assembling them into the oval form, so minor variations in the exact branch positions and weld points occur between pieces. The matt black finish hides fingerprints and surface marks better than polished metal, and the open structure means the bowl can be displayed against both light and dark backgrounds without losing definition. This is a decorative object only — the metal is not food-safe and should not be used to serve or store food.

Frequently Asked

Can this be used to serve food?

No. The Twig bowl is a decorative sculpture, not a food-safe vessel. The metal is untreated for food contact and the open lattice structure would not hold most foods safely. Use it for display only.

What can it hold?

The bowl works well with dried botanicals, decorative spheres, seasonal foliage such as eucalyptus or fir branches, or potpourri sachets. The open lattice means loose items smaller than the gaps between twigs may fall through.

Is each bowl identical?

No. Each bowl is handcrafted by artisans who shape and weld the individual metal twigs, so minor variations in the exact branch positions and weld points occur between pieces. The overall form and dimensions remain consistent.

How is it cleaned?

Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but dry immediately to prevent water marks on the matt black finish. Avoid household sprays or polishes.
