Description

Two little trophies for the breakfast table: this is a pair of stoneware egg cups, each shaped like a winner's cup with a handle on either side, a footed stem and a star bearing the number 1 on the front. The pair is multicoloured, and each cup has its own colourway, so nobody mixes up whose is whose. Each cup is 8.5cm long from handle to handle, 4.5cm wide and 6cm tall, with a 30ml cup that holds a boiled egg upright and leaves the top clear for slicing off. Stoneware is a dense, sturdy ceramic, a good match for a piece that small hands will pick up by its handles.

These are made for breakfast at the kitchen table, and they suit children best of all: the trophy shape turns a boiled egg and toast soldiers into a small celebration, whether it marks a first day back at school, a sports day win or simply a slow Saturday morning.
