Our Trilla vase is all about its outline. A wide, flared upper section narrows to a slim waist, swells into a rounded bulb, then flares out again into a broad foot, with a neat collar rim finishing the top. Fine contrasting stripes run vertically down the beige body, following every curve, and the inside of the rim is a different colour that catches the eye when you look down into it. It is made from 100% ceramic and stands 26.5cm tall and 16cm across, a middle height that sits comfortably between a small bud vase and a tall floor piece.

At 26.5cm it suits the places where a vase is seen up close: a sideboard, a bookshelf, a hall console, a bedside table or the middle of a round dining table. The flared top gives a single generous stem or a loose handful of short stems room to lean and spread, and the shape holds its own when left empty as a sculptural piece on a shelf.
