Description
The Knightsbridge TorlanECO is a 1530mm (5ft) LED batten delivering 4670lm of 4000K cool white light from an integrated 45W LED module behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The IP65-rated housing protects the electronics from dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for damp environments including stairwells, plant rooms, covered outdoor walkways, garages and unheated warehouses.
Designed for commercial and light-industrial installation, the batten uses a hinged gear tray that opens without tools, giving direct access to a push-fit terminal block for mains wiring. The fast-fix mounting system accepts either 600mm ceiling centres or BESA box fittings, and multiple battens can be installed end-to-end without visible cable runs. The fitting is compatible with Knightsbridge's MODMWS microwave sensor and MODEMKIT emergency conversion modules, both of which plug into the gear tray without re-wiring.
The polycarbonate body carries an IK06 impact rating, providing resistance to minor knocks in high-traffic areas without cracking or shattering. The 125-degree beam angle distributes light evenly across corridors and walkways up to 2.5m wide. At 105lm/W efficacy (light source) and 30,000-hour L70B50 life expectancy, the fitting is rated for approximately 11 years of continuous operation before the LED output drops to 70% of original brightness.

Frequently Asked
Can this be used outdoors?
The IP65 rating protects against dust and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas such as canopies, open garages and loading bays. It is not rated for full exposure to weather or submersion.
Is it compatible with emergency lighting modules?
Yes. The hinged gear tray accepts Knightsbridge's MODEMKIT emergency conversion module, which plugs in without re-wiring to provide emergency battery backup during mains power failure.
Can multiple battens be linked together?
Yes. Multiple TorlanECO battens can be installed end-to-end using the through-wiring terminal block inside the gear tray, avoiding the need for visible external cable runs between fittings.
What does the L70B50 rating mean?
L70B50 at 30,000 hours means that after 30,000 hours of operation, at least 50% of a batch of these fittings will still produce 70% or more of their original light output. This equates to approximately 11 years of continuous use before noticeable dimming.
