Description

Topsy is a clear plastic star that sits at the tip of a Christmas tree and lights it with integrated LEDs. Each of the five points is moulded with fine ridges that fan out from the centre, so the light runs along every ray and the whole star glows a warm white whenever the LEDs are lit. It stands 24cm high, measures 22cm in length and 5cm in width, and weighs 0.25KG, light enough to lift into place with one hand. A clear tube beneath the lower points slides over the top shoot of the tree. The IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors and dry, which is exactly where a Christmas tree stands.

We suggest it for a real or artificial tree in a living room, hallway or family room. Because it runs on batteries rather than mains power, you are not tied to a socket close to the tree, which leaves you free to stand the tree wherever it looks best. The clear finish works with any colour scheme, sitting comfortably beside gold, silver or brightly coloured baubles, and against dark green needles it reads as a crisp point of warm light.
