Description

This is a square wall shelf in reclaimed wood, divided into nine open compartments arranged in three rows of three. It is 53cm long and 53cm tall, so it sits on the wall as a neat square, and 10cm wide from front to back, which keeps it slim and suits smaller pieces rather than bulky ones. The material is 98% reclaimed wood and 2% iron. Reclaimed wood carries the marks of its earlier life, and the brown boards show knots, small marks and changes of grain from one panel to the next.

Because it hangs on the wall rather than standing on the floor, it gives you storage and display without taking up any floor space. In a living room or hallway, give each compartment one object: a small vase, a framed photograph, a little clock, a pretty dish for keys. In a bedroom it can keep jewellery dishes, perfume bottles and keepsakes in order.
