Description

A two tier dish rack in iron wire, 47cm wide, 25cm deep and 28cm high. Each tier is a bed of closely spaced wire loops, so plates stand on edge between them on either level, and a separate wire basket hooks over one end. A turned wooden handle runs across the top at each end. The wire carries a distressed grey finish, worn back to darker metal along the edges and the high points.

At 47cm wide it takes a run of worktop beside a sink and stands 25cm out from the wall. Plates stand on edge on both tiers, which holds twice what a single tier would in the same footprint, and the hooked basket keeps utensils upright rather than flat. There is no tray underneath it, so it wants a draining board or a surface that takes water.

The rack is iron throughout apart from the two wooden handles. The grey is a distressed finish rather than flat paint, so it runs uneven across the frame and no two racks are marked alike. Alongside the two plate racks there is a compartment for draining utensils, hung from the end of the frame.

Frequently Asked

How big is it?

47cm wide, 25cm deep and 28cm high.

Does it have a drip tray?

No. It is an open wire rack, so it needs to stand on a draining board or a surface that takes water.

What is the basket for?

Utensils and cutlery. It hooks over one end of the frame and drains through the wire.

What is it made from?

Iron, with a turned wooden handle at each end.

How should it be looked after?

Hand wash only, with a mild dish soap, and rinse in clean water. Harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners will damage the finish.
