Description

Our Tiara wooden bowls come as a set of two small, shallow pieces made from 100% acacia, each 10cm long, 15cm wide and 1.5cm tall. Each one has a round, gently dished centre and a flat tab at one end cut into a row of small steps, which gives your fingers something to hold. The pair is multicoloured: the two bowls differ in colour, and one shows the open, swirling grain of the wood in full.

At 1.5cm tall these are small serving pieces rather than bowls for soup or cereal, sized for a handful of berries, a couple of biscuits or a slice of toast beside your morning cup. They are food safe, so they can carry food straight to the table. Put one on a tray with the teapot for an afternoon break, set both out with nibbles when friends come round, or keep one beside the kettle as a spoon rest. They sit as happily on a kitchen worktop as on a breakfast table or coffee table, and as a pair they suit two people sharing a pot of tea.

Each bowl is 100% acacia under a food safe lacquer finish. Acacia is a dense hardwood with a strongly figured grain, so the pattern varies from one piece of wood to the next. They are not dishwasher safe, microwave safe or oven safe, so keep them out of all three and wash them by hand; wood does not take kindly to soaking, so a quick rinse and a dry with a tea towel suits them best. For styling, set the two side by side on a tray or a wooden board, where the difference in colour between them does the work, or tuck one into a basket of tea things on a sideboard.
