Description
This is a small glass vase with a round, full body, a short pinched neck and a rim that flares out into soft ruffles. It stands 12cm tall and measures 12cm across, as wide as it is tall, and it is made entirely of glass. The amber glass is scattered all through with tiny air bubbles and darker flecks, which catch the light and give the piece a gently aged look. At 0.79KG it has a reassuring weight for its size, so it sits steadily on a shelf.
Its size suits a few stems rather than a big bunch; we like it with a sprig of dried grasses, a single garden rose, a few sweet peas or a twist of eucalyptus. The narrow neck holds slender stems upright and gathers them without fuss, so even a handful of grasses looks considered. Set it on a bedside table, a windowsill, a bookshelf or a stack of books on a side table, or in the centre of a small dining table, where it will not get in the way of conversation. It works without flowers too, as a small glass object among books and ceramics in a living room or hallway.
Look closely and the bubbles sit inside the glass itself, giving the vase depth as well as texture. The ruffled rim is shaped from the same amber glass as the body, and its waves rise and dip unevenly around the opening. Glass does not absorb water, so the inside rinses clean between bunches of fresh flowers. For the most from the colour, place it where daylight reaches it from the side or the back: the amber glows and the bubbles show clearly when light passes through the glass. The styling props shown are not included.

Frequently Asked
How big is the vase?
It stands 12cm tall and measures 12cm across, a small size suited to a few stems, a sprig of dried grasses or a short posy.
Is the vase made of glass?
Yes, it is made of 100% glass in amber, with small air bubbles and darker flecks scattered through the glass that give it a speckled, gently aged look.
Can I use it with fresh flowers?
Yes. Glass does not absorb water, so it suits fresh stems as well as dried grasses, and the narrow neck keeps slender stems standing upright.
How heavy is it?
It weighs 0.79KG, which gives it a good, steady feel for a vase of this size and helps it sit firmly on a shelf or table.
Is the rim straight or shaped?
The rim is shaped: it flares out from a short, narrow neck into soft, uneven ruffles, while the body below is round and full.
Are the dried grasses included?
No. The dried grasses, the books and the other styling props shown are not included; you receive the amber glass vase on its own.
