Description

This white Bambi mug says it plainly on the front: The BEST MUM in the whole world, in gold lettering above a soft illustration of Bambi curled up asleep against his mother. Lilac daisies, green leaves and a scatter of grey and gold stars frame the pair, with a pale grey cloud drifting behind the words and a tiny 'love you' tag tucked beneath the grass. Turn it round and the back is quieter, with white, grey and pale yellow clouds, a few stars and the name bambi written in a little oval. It holds 300ml, which is a proper cup of tea or coffee, and stands 10.5cm tall, 11.5cm wide and 8.5cm deep.

It is a lovely mug for Mum, and it suits Mother's Day well, whether it arrives with breakfast in bed or alongside a card and flowers. Because the words do the talking, it is an easy choice for anyone who wants to tell their mum how they feel without fuss. It sits happily in the kitchen as her everyday mug, on a desk at work, or on a bedside table for a slow morning brew. Fans of Bambi will recognise the gentle scene straight away, and the soft colours sit quietly beside most crockery.

The mug stands on a raised, footed base and opens out to a gently flared rim, with a curved handle that has a small rest for the thumb at the top. The white ground keeps the gold lettering and the illustration bright, and there is decoration on both sides, so it looks good from wherever it sits. To keep the print looking its best, we would wash it gently by hand in warm soapy water and dry it with a soft cloth. Wrap it with a box of her favourite tea or a bar of chocolate, and you have a Mother's Day gift she can reach for every morning.
