Description

The Tessaro Medium is a 68.6cm empire-form chandelier built from twelve curved black leather straps that sweep from a polished chrome crown down to a chrome base ring. A second ring set with cushion-cut K9 crystals sits at the widest point of the cage, and a faceted crystal pendant hangs from the centre on a fine cable. The light source is an integrated 3000K LED housed within the crystal ring.

Standing 91.4cm tall and 68.6cm wide, the Tessaro suits double-height entrance halls, large dining rooms above an 8-10 seat table, and open-plan living areas with ceilings of 3m or more. The 150cm suspension cable is adjustable on installation, allowing the fitting to be set well below the ceiling line in tall rooms or shortened to clear lower beams. At 26kg, it requires a structural ceiling fixing rated for the load.

The combination of materials is the defining feature. Black saddle-stitched leather straps give the empire silhouette a graphic, almost industrial weight, while the K9 crystal ring and central drop add the refractive sparkle expected of a chandelier. The chrome hardware at the crown and base ties both materials together. The result reads neoclassical in shape but contemporary in finish, pairing comfortably with concrete, dark timber and matt metal interiors.

What ceiling height does the Tessaro need?

The fitting itself is 91.4cm tall, plus up to 150cm of adjustable suspension cable. It works best in rooms with ceilings of 3m or more, such as double-height entrance halls or large dining rooms. The cable can be shortened on installation to suit lower ceilings, but allow at least 2.2m of clearance below the chandelier in walking areas.

What bulb is used and is it replaceable?

The Tessaro uses an integrated LED at 3000K (warm white), housed within the crystal ring. The LED is not a user-replaceable bulb. Voltage range is 120V-220V, suitable for UK 230V mains.

How is a 26kg chandelier installed?

At 26kg, the chandelier requires a structural ceiling fixing rated to safely carry the load. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, who will typically fit a heavy-duty ceiling hook or strap into a joist or noggin rather than relying on a standard ceiling rose.

How is the leather cared for?

Dust the leather straps with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid household cleaning sprays, polishes and solvents, which can dry out or stain the leather. The K9 crystals can be wiped with a barely-damp microfibre cloth once the power is isolated and the fitting is fully cool.
