Description

A jug in earthenware, 19.5cm tall and holding two litres, with a round belly that draws in at the neck, a wide pulled lip and a large round handle set high on the side. The glaze is a soft khaki green, and broad dark brown brushstrokes run over it, laid on by hand so they break and thin where the brush lifted. No two jugs carry the same markings.

Two litres is enough for water for a table of six, and for juice or a seasonal drink. At 19.5cm tall and 21cm from front to back it sits on the table rather than being carried far, and it is food safe.

The body is earthenware and the markings are painted on by hand, so the pattern and the depth of the green shift from jug to jug. Terra also runs to a footed bowl and a serving bowl in the same khaki green.
