Description

The Tembesi is a large planter in aluminium under an antique brass finish, 32cm tall and 36cm across. The body swells out from a narrow foot to its widest point around the middle, then draws back in to a plain flat rim. Below that rim the whole outside is etched in close horizontal bands of small squares, each square carrying a raised dot at its centre, and the inside is left smooth and bright.

It holds 25 litres, which is enough for a house plant of some size. It stands on the floor against a wall and holds a broad leaved plant, with the two smaller Tembesis beside it. It is suitable for outdoor use as well as indoors. Plant into an inner pot and stand that inside the planter rather than planting into the planter itself.

The planter is aluminium throughout and the etching is done by hand, so the bands do not fall in the same place on any two. The Tembesi range runs to three sizes in this finish, at 18cm, 25cm and 32cm tall, and to two more in antique black and brass.
