Description

This is a ribbed stoneware teapot with its own stainless steel strainer, made for brewing loose leaf tea. It holds 890ml and measures 14cm across and 14cm tall, a rounded body that sits steady on the table. Fine horizontal ribs run all the way around the pot from the foot to the rim, and they repeat as rings on the domed lid, which is topped with a small ribbed knob. The spray glaze is multicoloured, shading gradually from the shoulder down to the base, with the spout and the curved handle carrying the deeper shade of the shoulder.

At 890ml it is a pot for sharing rather than for a single cup, so it suits a slow weekend breakfast, afternoon tea with friends or a long morning at the kitchen table. Spoon loose leaf tea into the fine mesh strainer, which sits in the opening under the lid, pour on hot water, then lift the strainer out once the tea is as strong as you like it, so it stops brewing when you like. Between pots it looks right at home on an open kitchen shelf or a dresser.

The body and lid are stoneware, which makes up 95% of the material, and the strainer is stainless steel, the remaining 5%.
