Description

The Tabosa is a small brass spotlight: a round plate, a pivot with a heavy knurled thumbscrew on each side, and a domed head that turns between them. A ring of narrow slots is pierced round the shoulder of the dome and the rim carries a milled band. A rust coloured flex loops over the top into the fitting. The brass is aged and dark, with the tone running unevenly across it. It is 10.9cm tall, 6.5cm wide and stands 17cm out from the wall.

The thumbscrews hold the head wherever it is turned, so the beam is set once and stays. Fixed in a row along a beam, each one can be aimed at a different point below. It works on a wall or along a beam in a kitchen, over shelving, or anywhere a contained beam is wanted rather than a lit room. It takes one GU10 bulb up to 40W, it is suitable for use with a dimmer switch, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms. No bulb is included.

The fitting is brass under an antique brass finish. The slots round the shoulder are cut through the metal, so a little light escapes upward as well as forward.
