Description
The Sylvia is a single-light wall fitting built around a vertical matte black metal stem topped with a curved clear glass dome. The stem rises from a circular backplate, with the glass dome sitting above a horizontal platform at the upper end. The E14 bulb inside the dome casts light through the clear glass and reflects off the platform below, giving both upward and downward illumination.
Designed for wall positions where vertical accent is needed, the Sylvia works as a pair flanking a bathroom mirror, a single fitting beside a bed headboard, or in a row along a hallway or stairwell. The 127mm width and 146mm projection keep the fitting compact enough for narrow walls, while the 292mm height creates visual presence. The matte black finish absorbs light under daylight and creates contrast against painted walls in white, grey or warm neutral tones.
The clear glass dome is mouth-blown, so each piece shows slight variation in thickness and form. The dome sits above a small horizontal disc that acts as a reflector and gives the light source a visual anchor. The circular backplate fixes to a standard UK wall box with two fixing points, and the wiring conceals within the backplate diameter. The E14 fitting accepts bulbs up to 40W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose between warm-white LED, vintage filament or candle-style bulbs.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Sylvia take?
The fitting takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 40W, sold separately. Most users pair it with a 4-6W warm-white LED candle or golf ball bulb at 2700K for a soft ambient glow.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
The Sylvia carries no IP rating and is designed for dry indoor use only. It should not be installed within bathroom zones where water splashing or high humidity is present. It can be used in bedrooms or hallways adjacent to bathrooms.
How far does it project from the wall?
The total projection is 146mm from the wall face to the outermost point of the glass dome. This makes it suitable for walls where clearance is limited, such as beside a bed or in a hallway.
Does the glass dome come off for bulb replacement?
Yes. The glass dome lifts off the upper platform to access the E14 bulb holder. Handle the dome carefully during removal as it is mouth-blown glass and not tempered.
